is Cottonwood Cove Resort located?
A: We are located 13 miles north
of South Fork and 8 miles south of Creede on Highway 149
and on the Rio Grande River. You can't miss us.
Q: Are the
cabins equipped with bathrooms?
A: Yes, although the cabins are
rustic, they are fully equipped with bathrooms and kitchens.
Q: What
clothes should I bring?
A: It can be frosty in the morning
and warm in the afternoon, with light rain showers. So bring
a jacket, rain coat and a hat.
Q: What
is included with your buffet breakfast?
A: Our breakfast is served buffet
style and includes bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy
(the best around), hash brows, pancakes, fruit and dry cereal,
and of course your beverage of choice.
Q: Do the
cabins have air conditioning?
A: No, with our cool mornings
and mild afternoons, you will enjoy just opening the windows
and breathing cool mountain air.
Q: Does
your RV Park have full hookups?
A: Yes, we have full hookups (water,
sewer and electric) with gravel pull through lots. And,
yes, we have a shower house.
Q: Do you
allow tent camping?
A: No, we only have RV spaces...with
the bears and other critters roaming around, you would not
want to be in a tent anyway.
Q: Do you
charge for electric in the RV Park?
A: Only if you will be staying
for one month or more.
Q: Do you
have cell phone service?
A: No, but you can go about a
mile up the highway and get service at the "Phone Booth".
Q: Do you
have WIFI?
A: Yes, and you should be able
to get it most anywhere at The Cove.
Q: Do you
offer fishing?
A: Yes, we have Gold Medal trout
fishing on the Rio Grande River. Fishing is good in spring
and early summer. As the river water level drops, the fishing
will get more challenging. Fishing guide packages are available.
Q: What
activities do we offer on site?
A: Horseback riding for
1 hour at a rate of $29 and 2 hours at a rate of $49. The
guided rides go up into the mountains where there are beautiful
sights to see.
Jeeps can be
rented for $159 per day for a 4-door Jeep
Raft rides on
a self-guided 14 mile-stretch of the Rio Grande River
can be purchased, $29 per person. We will put you
in at The Cove and pick you up west of South Fork.
