This nationally-acclaimed theatre was founded
in 1966. The theatre continues to be one of the great
places to see lights off Broadway. The theatre runs
in repertory format which allows patrons to see a different
show almost every night of the week.

FISHING:
The Rio Grande River is a gold medal trout fishing river.
In the spring or early summer rafting for pleasure, or fishing,
is a popular option. For the youngsters or those who
prefer more relaxing fishing, there are many lakes to fish
from banks or boat.

Runs daily from South Fork past Wagon Wheel Gap right
through Cottonwood Cove with stops for lunch or Blue Bell
Ice Cream. The trip with Don Shank is very entertaining
and informative.

CAR SHOWS:
Throughout the summer into fall local towns host
quality car shows. Check with Creede, South Fork,
Alamosa and Monte Vista for dates and entry information

CHANGING LEAVES:
From around the middle of September into October

The San Luis Valley and surrounding mountains come alive
with the beautiful colors of autumn. The weather is perfect,
and the kids are back in school.

WILDLIFE VIEWING:
Along the Silver Thread Scenic Byway (State Hwy. 149) U.S.
Hwy. 160 and many forest service roads, opportunities exist
for wildlife watching.

You may see elk, mule deer, moose, bighorn sheep or a host
of other mammals and birds.
|

PLEASE RESPECT THE WILDLIFE

Loops through historic silver mining district and
ghost towns. The drive can be made by passenger car.

& UNDERGROUND FIRE HOUSE: These unique facilities blasted from the mountain,
adjoin the Creede Community Center. Many functions throughout
the year are held here, including Elks Bingo, Wood Carvers Expo,
Rock & Mineral Show and with seating for about 200 people
and many other community events

OFF ROAD TRAILS:
There are hundreds of miles of trails into some most
beautiful back country in the U.S. Many of these are accessible
by Jeeps or quads, others by horseback or bicycle...pick your
pleasure

GOLF:
The ball flies farther here at 8,800' elevation adding to the
enjoyment of the
Rio Grande Club's 7,155 yard champion course,
Only about 9 miles from Cottonwood Cove

SKIING:
Is located
on Hwy. 160 about 27 miles west of Cottonwood Cove.
