Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Where is Cottonwood Cove Located?
A: We are located 13 miles north of South Fork and 8 miles south of Creede on Highway 149.
Q:What clothes should I bring?
A: It can be frosty in the morning and warm in the afternoon, often with light rain showers. Bring jackets, layering is recommended.
Q: Do you allow tent camping?
A: No, we only have RV sites....with the bears and other critters roaming around, you would not want to be in a tent anyway.
Q: Are the Cabins furnished?
A: Yes, the kitchens have all basic cookware, and the bedrooms and bathrooms have complete linens.
Q: Are you pet friendly?
A: Each cabin has different rules so please look at cabin accommodations to make sure the cabin you are booking will allow pets, however, there is a limit of 2 for any of our pet friendly cabins.
The RV Park is pet friendly but we ask that your pets are always on a leash and that you clean up after them every time.
Q: Are the RV Sites full hookups?
A: Yes, each RV Site has full electric, sewer, water, and trash. There is also a bath house available to our guests and laundry facilities.
Q: Is there Wi-Fi and cell phone coverage?
A: We have upgraded our Wi-Fi to the best that is available, but we do still reside in the rural mountains. For the most part it is very reliable. Cell phones do work here if they are connected to "Wi-Fi calling" or they will work one mile down the road at the "Phone Booth."
Q: Is there wildlife?
A: Yes, there are typically deer, elk, and Rocky Mountain big horn sheep. Occasionally there are bears, moose, and coyotes.
Q: Are we able to ride our OHV's to the trails?
A: We ask that you do not drive them in the park except during daytime hours. According to Colorado Law, they are not permitted on State Highways, so you must trailer them to whichever trail head you are wanting to explore.
Q: What do we do when arriving in our RV?
A: We ask that you pull into the RV Park and there will be a space designated for you to pull over so that you are not blocking the road. We will have instructions there for you and a camp host that will show you to your spot and help you get settled. When you are settled, please come to the office to fully check in and pay your balance due.
