Fishing the rio grande

The stretch of the Rio Grande river through Cottonwood Cove is known by fisherman all over the country. It is famous for the Salmon Fly Hatch which generally happens around mid June. The river is classified as "Gold Medal Water" which means the catch and release of Rainbow Trout is mandatory. Cottonwood Cove guests get exclusive access to over 1/4 mile of private water, giving you tons of opportunity for that "perfect picture" you won't have to exaggerate. A fishing license is required by Colorado State Law, and can be purchased in Creede or South Fork. Well stocked lakes and reservoirs also surround this area of Colorado, so you are sure to find what you are looking for!
